From 26 to 29 September 2026, Hammamet hosted the SOS Children’s Villages International Forum under the theme “Every Child Has the Right to a Home.” The event brought together representatives from 28 countries, members of the International Board, experts and partners, highlighting the strong position of the Tunisian association within the global SOS network.
The Forum was opened by Ms Asma Jebri, Minister of Family, Women, Children and Senior Citizens, in the presence of Mr Domenico Parisi (Mimo), Chair of the International Board. Discussions focused on alternative care, volunteering, governance, resource development, communication and digital transformation.

A major highlight was the decision of the International Board’s decision to hold its meeting in Tunisia, marking the first time since 1949 that such a meeting had taken place outside Europe. The Forum also hosted the annual meeting of the West, Central and North Africa (WCNA) Group, which unanimously elected Mr Mohamed Megdiche, President of SOS Children’s Villages Tunisia, as Group Chair for a one-year term.
